The Metro Public Health Department is expanding clinic hours and offering additional community vaccination clinics throughout August to help students get the immunizations they need before returning to school.
Tennessee requires students entering kindergarten, seventh grade, and those who are new to Metro Nashville Public Schools to provide proof of required vaccinations before attending class.
Through the end of August, the department is extending immunization hours at three public health clinics:
- Lentz Public Health Center (2500 Charlotte Ave.): Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., through Aug. 28.
- East Public Health Center (1015 East Trinity Lane): Tuesdays only, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., through Aug. 25.
- Woodbine Public Health Center (224 Oriel Ave.): Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., through Aug. 28.
The health department is also providing vaccinations through its Mobile Services team at community locations across Davidson County. Mobile clinics offer immunizations and school physicals for uninsured individuals, those whose insurance does not cover vaccines, and people eligible for TennCare.
Families who need a copy of their child’s immunization records can obtain them Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Immunization Records office on the second floor of the Lentz Public Health Center. A schedule of mobile clinics can be found here and additional information about school immunization requirements is available through the Metro Public Health Department.
