February 5, 2022 – Nashville man killed overnight Saturday in a single-vehicle crash on Metroplex Drive is identified as Xavier Ward, 27.
Officers responded to the 500 block of Metroplex Drive at 10:30 a.m. today after an employee of a nearby business reported the wreck.
The preliminary investigation shows that Ward was driving a 2013 Dodge Charger west on I-24 when, for reasons unknown, the car left the roadway, traveled onto the right shoulder and through a fence before entering a parking lot and colliding with a metal pole. Ward, who was not wearing a seatbelt, died at the scene.
At this time, the crash appears to have occurred sometime during the overnight hours.
