A man is facing charges after a car crash turned violent that occurred at Opry Mills Mall over the weekend, according to WSMV.

Police say 33-year-old Justin King and another driver were involved in a crash in the parking lot of the mall on May 20, 2023. Following the crash, King exited his car and began demanding $300 to cover damages from the crash while holding the man at gunpoint.

Reports say that the victim fearfully begged King to allow him to call his brother-in-law, who would be able to bring him the $300. King was taken into custody after the victim’s brother-in-law notified police.

It was later determined that the gun that King used in the incident was stolen.

King was charged with aggravated robbery, kidnapping and theft of a firearm.
