September 29, 2023 – The man killed Thursday night after his Chevrolet Silverado pickup rolled off a tow truck and struck him near his residence in the 2600 block of Mountain Laurel Drive is identified as Nantus Van Vuuren, 31.
The preliminary investigation shows that a tow truck driver was unloading Van Vuuren’s pickup when the tow cable broke. The Silverado rolled off the bed and Van Vuuren began running after it. The pickup lost its momentum and rolled back, striking Van Vuuren who was knocked to the ground.
The pickup rolled over him. He died at the scene.
