Lane said he was hanging out in a breezeway when he was confronted by a man he knows as “Cheese.” Detectives were familiar with a person known by that nickname (Jenkins). Lane then positively identified Jenkins as the man who wounded him when shown a photo lineup. Detectives located Jenkins inside a Lafayette Street apartment this afternoon. He complied with commands to exit and surrender.

Jenkins is also being charged with unlawful gun possession by a convicted felon, felony reckless endangerment, and gun possession in the commission of a dangerous felony.
