April 24, 2025 – Terry Watters Jr., 41, is charged with second-degree murder and felon in possession of a gun for the August 17, 2024, fatal shooting of Christopher Rhodes in a Richland Hills Apartment complex parking lot at 5800 Maudina Avenue.
Rhodes, 25, and his girlfriend were bringing furniture to their apartment when Watters confronted the woman, apparently related to an ongoing dispute.
When Rhodes intervened, Watters allegedly pistol whipped him. Rhodes was shot during a struggle between Rhodes and Watters over control of the gun.
Watters fled in a vehicle before police arrival.
