A man was arrested on May 3, 2023 for making threats to shoot a school or a church.

Joshua Jones, 33, was arrested by Metro Nashville police after he called the communications center’s non-emergency number and told a call taker that he had funds to purchase a weapon and would “shoot up a school or church”. He also threatened to harm responding officers.

Officers located him on Bell Road and took him into custody without incident. Jones has a history of making threats by phone. He was arrested in 2021 and 2019 for calling 911 and making bomb threats.

Jones is charged with making a false emergency report. He is being held on $35,000 bond.
