M.L.Rose Craft Beer & Burgers continues its growth in the greater Nashville area with plans to open a location in the Inglewood neighborhood at 3701 Gallatin Pike, announces founder and CEO Austin Ray.
“Inglewood reminds me so much of Melrose when our first location opened, and Sylvan Park when we opened the second one there,” said Ray. “There were so many folks ready for more neighborhood food and bar options, and the traditional retail corridors were not providing enough. This is how M.L.Rose was built – betting on strong and growing neighborhoods. Often these older retail corridors like Gallatin Pike have to catch up to the demand of the residents, and this building is a perfect spot for more restaurants that everyone in the area can enjoy. I’ve been searching for a home for M.L.Rose on the East side for seven years, and while I’ve found several good spaces, I could never find one with a building this beautiful and great parking until now.”
The existing 12,500-square-foot structure, built in 1940, will be renovated to house M.L.Rose and two additional restaurant/retail spaces, with tenants yet to be announced. Similarly to the original M.L.Rose location, founded in 2008, the space will reflect the history of the original building. The brand, built on the idea that every neighborhood needs a watering hole with great burgers, beer and ambiance, plans to bring its ‘get out without getting fancy’ atmosphere to East Nashville in a way that honors the spirit of the Inglewood community.
“We will take great care to bring this building back to life to serve the community for decades to come,” continued Ray. “The M.L.Rose space will allow us to create a shotgun-style bar just like the one on 8th Avenue, allowing space to offer our trademark 36 taps and even more seating than our other locations. There’s a special patio opportunity behind the building. It will provide a nice refuge from the bustle of Gallatin Pike, and it has original graffiti pieces that we will look to add to as our patio art.”
With M.L.Rose now well-known to craft beer lovers, the Inglewood location will offer an expansive craft beer menu with 36 craft, local and hyper-local beers on tap, as well as craft burgers served with a pile of signature, crispy waffle fries, pub food favorites like nachos and wings, fresh items like sandwiches and salads for lunch, dinner, happy hour, late night drinks and eats, and weekend brunch.
“We are over the moon to announce our recent partnership with Porter Road Butcher, and many people know they have deep roots here in East Nashville,” said Ray. “All our beef is now pasture-raised and dry-aged from Porter Road, a local company that has obviously earned its stripes here, and we are so proud to be growing together with them in this partnership.”
The brand has experienced significant growth over the past year, but it isn’t slowing down any time soon. Ray now has his sights fixed on restoring the Inglewood building to ensure it stands as its own community staple and hopes to continue serving local neighborhoods by expanding into additional communities in the near future.
Specific details for M.L.Rose Inglewood, including an opening date, will be released at a later date.
ABOUT M.L.ROSE
M.L.Rose Craft Beer & Burgers is a locally owned chain of neighborhood pubs founded in Nashville, TN. Since 2008, the pubs have become well-known for their eclectic and lived-in feel, extensive seasonal beer offerings, quality burgers and crisp waffle fries. At M.L.Rose, we welcome all visitors as good neighbors and strive to be good neighbors in each of our locations’ unique communities.
Neighbors and visitors enjoy burgers that range from classic to crafty, accompanied by piles of signature waffle fries. The menu is rounded out by quality pub food, including indulgent sandwiches, beer-braised wings, top-voted nachos, and fresh, crisp salads and wraps.
The M.L.Rose “Beer Council,” an internal team of 20+ team members and partners, carefully selects about 36 draft beers and 100 total beers for the menu at each location. The draft beer menu changes seasonally and provides a foundation for hand-picked beers to be enjoyed repeatedly. Several taps are reserved for collaborations with local and notable craft breweries, limited releases and exclusive offerings. Above all, the M.L.Rose team commits to discovering and bringing an unmatched selection of the best, the little-known, and new-to-market craft beers closer to the communities.
For the less-experienced beer lover, M.L.Rose has thoughtfully divided its colorful menu into categories according to flavor profile and offers flights and samples of beer to try. A cocktail menu and full bar are also available.
The M.L.Rose story began in 2008 in Nashville’s gritty, emerging Melrose neighborhood. Melrose was on the verge of revival but didn’t yet have a great neighborhood bar. So with a strong passion for craft beer and sharing it with friends, Austin Ray opened the first M.L.Rose location where studio musicians, hospitality workers, and celebrities mingle with local residents to create a laid-back, full-of-life, stay-a-while kind of place. While M.L.Rose solidified itself as a neighborhood staple through a focus on quality, its early alignment with the soon-to-explode craft beer market is what sparked further growth. The second M.L.Rose location opened in Sylvan Park in 2012. The third M.L.Rose opened in late 2017 as the first restaurant tenant in Capitol View. The fourth M.L.Rose, in the Providence development in Mt. Juliet, opened in 2021 as the brand’s first venture outside of Metro Nashville.
M.L.Rose is owned and operated by Nashville native Austin Ray of A.Ray Hospitality also manages local brands Von Elrod’s Beer Hall & Kitchen and Melrose Billiard Parlor. For more information, visit www.mlrose.com and www.arayhospitality.com.
