December 11, 2023 – Homicide Unit detectives are working active leads in Monday’s 3:15 a.m. targeted shooting of Jesus Manuel Sigala, 57, in the parking lot of Covenant Crossing Apartments on Thompson Lane that left him critically injured. Sigala was found in the driver’s seat of a red GMC pickup truck with a gunshot wound to the head.
He was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he remains in extremely critical condition.
A witness reported that a small, light-colored 4-door vehicle drove by as Sigala was backing into a parking space and began shooting at the truck.
The motive remains under investigation.
