Hendersonville Detective Passes Away After Illness


A detective with the Hendersonville Police Department passed away on the morning of August 29 after a battle with a long-term illness.

Detective Sean Simms served the citizens of Hendersonville for 16 years in a variety of roles. He began his career with the Hendersonville Police Department as a patrol officer in 2007. He served as a Master Patrol Officer and a Flex Officer before being promoted to Detective in September 2015.

Detective Simms absorbed as many responsibilities as possible during his career. Before joining the Hendersonville Police Department, Detective Simms served our country honorably in the United States Army.

The Hendersonville Police Department says Simms was an example of courage, commitment, and humility.

Police did not release any arrangement details as they are still being finalized.
