Gunman Sought In Suspected Road Rage Shooting That Killed Victim’s Dog

September 6, 2024 – Metro Nashville detectives are working to identify the gunman responsible for Wednesday’s 11:20 p.m. suspected road rage incident in which shots were fired into the victim’s vehicle, fatally wounding his German Shepherd in the back seat.

The victim reported driving northbound on Bell Road near Smith Springs Road when a black Dodge Ram pickup truck was following him closely, likely wanting to pass him.

When the victim stopped at the red light in the left turn lane the suspect, described as a white or possibly Hispanic man, pointed a gun, and fired at the passenger’s side, shooting out the back window.

The victim ducked and pulled into a subdivision when he discovered his dog had been shot.

The suspect fled northbound on Bell Road.
