A man has died after drowning at Old Hickory Lake in Hendersonville.
On May 15, 2024, at approximately 11:15 a.m., the Hendersonville Police Department was dispatched to a possible drowning at Saundersville Boat Ramp on Caudill Drive.
The Hendersonville Police Department, Hendersonville Fire Department, Sumner EMA, Sumner County EMS, and Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency all worked together to locate the victim who had drowned.
The victim was later identified as 76-year-old Mervin Johnson, Jr. of Goodlettsville, TN.
As the use of lakes and waterways for recreation increases during the summer months, Hendersonville Police reminds citizens that it’s important to always wear a life jacket.
