Mason Music is celebrating the grand opening of its Brentwood music school, formerly Sky Studios, with a free community event on Saturday, July 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. More Business News
The free, family-friendly event will include live performances by Mason Music staff and students, studio tours, games, refreshments and hands-on music activities. Guests can also enter to win a lifetime of free music lessons.
Mason Music acquired Sky Studios in January 2026 and has spent the past several months renovating and rebranding the location. The updated studio features refreshed interior spaces, Mason Music branding and the company’s established operational systems while retaining the teaching staff familiar to local families.
Former Sky Studios owner Schylar Shoates remains involved with the Brentwood location and now serves as Mason Music’s director of recording. In the new role, he is helping develop recording, songwriting and music production opportunities for students, including plans for a student record label.
“Acquiring this business wasn’t just a good opportunity—it was meant to be,” Mason Music founder and CEO Will Mason said in a release. “We couldn’t be more excited to serve the Brentwood community with high-quality music lessons.”
Mason Music currently serves more than 1,400 students each week across eight locations in Birmingham, Huntsville and Brentwood. The company offers personalized music instruction designed to help students learn the music they enjoy while building long-term skills and confidence.
Current and prospective students, families and community members are invited to attend the reopening celebration, meet the staff and tour the renovated school.
Mason Music Brentwood is located at the former Sky Studios location, 330 Franklin Road, Brentwood.
