From Metro Police February 4, 2023 – A fatal two-car crash on Dickerson Pike at Old Hickory Boulevard early Saturday morning remains under investigation after occupants of one car fled the scene. Officers attempted to stop a 2020 Dodge Charger a short time before the crash after the vehicle was seen doing a donut in the middle of Dickerson Pike. More Crime!
The Charger fled southbound from officers, who did not pursue. Moments later, the Charger collided with a Mazda 3 at the intersection of Old Hickory Boulevard.
The driver of the Mazda, Kimberly Benezue, 26, of Clarksville, died at the scene. Her 22-year-old passenger was transported to Skyline Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
Toxicology testing will be conducted to determine whether impairment was a factor in this fatal crash.
The occupants of the Charger fled the scene. The Charger had been reported stolen from North Nashville several hours before the crash.
