A pedestrian has died after being hit by a pick-up truck last night on Acklen Park Drive near Hillcrest Place. Ruifang Wang, 91, was attempting to cross the roadway when a Toyota Tundra was making a left turn and struck him.
According to a witness, the driver of the Toyota, Christopher Watts, 31, came to a complete stop prior to making the turn and striking Wang. Watts reported he did not see Wang in the roadway.
There was no evidence of impairment at the scene.
Wang was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died this morning.
