The man killed in Wednesday’s 6 a.m. single-vehicle crash on Massman Drive near Massman Manor Drive is identified as Jeremiah Bradshaw, 44, of Nashville.
The preliminary investigation shows that Bradshaw was driving a 2004 Nissan Maxima northbound on Massman Drive (two lanes, separated by a double-yellow no passing line) when he passed a northbound shuttle bus at a high rate of speed.
Video from the bus shows Bradshaw attempting to negotiate a curve in the southbound lane when he lost control of the car and traveled off the roadway, colliding with a tree. He was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died.
The preliminary contributing factors to this crash are speed and failure to maintain lane.
