April 23, 2025 – A Nashville man who has been a fugitive since last year on felony domestic aggravated assault, burglary and theft warrants is in custody after MNPD SWAT officers on Wednesday assisted in the execution of a search warrant on Brenda Court where Leonel Vargas Jr. was staying.
Specialized Investigations Division detectives and federal ATF agents, who have been investigating Vargas’ association with the MS-13 gang, coordinated the surveillance that led to the arrest.
Vargas is jailed without bond on the outstanding warrants, which include a felony probation violation charge.
