The Medical Examiner’s office has determined that a gunshot wound led to Tuesday night’s death of a pedestrian who was struck by a 3-wheel motorcycle on Murfreesboro Pike near E. Thompson Lane.

Officers responded to the collision at 9:15 p.m. and found the victim, tentatively identified as a 49-year-old Nashville man, deceased in the roadway.

It appears that the victim had an argument with someone on the south side of Murfreesboro Pike. As he started running across the street, he was shot by that individual. The victim was then struck by the motorcycle. He died at the scene. The driver of the motorcycle was treated for minor injuries.

The Medical Examiner is working to positively identify the victim. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call Nashville Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and qualify for a $5,000 reward for homicide and cold cases.
