December 22, 2023 – Homicide Unit detectives are pursuing leads in Friday’s 1:50 a.m. fatal shooting that claimed Richard Wilder, 43, of Nashville.
A person out walking reported a wrecked pickup truck in the 1400 block of Brick Church Pike. Wilder was found deceased in the driver’s seat. It appears that he was shot nearby, while in his vehicle, in an apparent targeted shooting and crashed shortly after being struck by gunfire. The motive remains under investigation.
