January 4, 2026 – Homicide Unit detectives are pursuing active leads into Sunday’s 4 a.m. gunfire near a Murfreesboro Pike nightclub that fatally struck a food delivery driver traveling nearby. David Valentine Jr., 33, and his female passenger had just completed a Door Dash delivery and began traveling inbound in a Chevrolet Traverse near 888 Murfreesboro Pike.
Valentine’s female passenger reported hearing gunshots prior to realizing he had been struck. She was able to safely pull the Traverse over and called dispatch.
Valentine was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died.
Anyone with information on this fatal shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Callers can remain anonymous and qualify for up to a $5,000 reward for homicide cases.
