January 24, 2024 – Homicide detectives are investigating Wednesday’s 12:40 a.m. fatal shooting of Jonathan Castillo, 22, in the 800 block of Aeolia Drive.
Castillo had parked outside the residence of an ex-girlfriend where he reportedly had gone to pick up their 3-year-old child. According to a witness, two gunmen wearing masks walked past the victim’s car before one turned and pointed a handgun toward him, telling him to get his hands up after which shots were fired.
Officers arrived to find Castillo inside his vehicle, unresponsive. He was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died.
