Convicted Felon Arrested Following Kidnapping of 22-Year-Old Woman

March 11, 2024 – A convicted felon Jaymes Greer, 24, was arrested Monday night for the kidnapping and assault of a female acquaintance that began at a Mapco on Old Hickory Boulevard.

Greer entered the gas station requesting the use the clerk’s phone before he left and entered a white Toyota Camry in the parking lot with a female inside. The clerk observed a physical altercation between the two before the Camry sped off.

The clerk told officers Greer was armed and recovered his wallet in the parking lot which aided in identifying him. Officers confirmed Greer had outstanding warrants.

The Camry was registered to a 22-year-old woman whose family was able to assist in tracking her location. As patrol units and Aviation followed the vehicle, officers recovered a Glock pistol that was seen being thrown from the Camry into a storm drain at 13th Avenue South and Broadway.

Greer was apprehended after he fled on foot from the Camry on Haynes Street. He was transported to Skyline Medical Center with a non-life threatening stab wound to his back.

The 22-year-old woman was found in the Camry a few streets over after fleeing from Greer. She was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with extensive injuries to her face, including several broken bones and missing teeth.

Greer told officers he fled the vehicle after being stabbed by the victim.

Greer was booked on his outstanding warrants for an unrelated domestic assault and felony probation violation. He was additionally charged with especially aggravated kidnapping, evading arrest and two counts of felony weapon possession.

He is currently jailed in lieu of $122,500 bond.
