Car Stolen from Valet at Downtown Nashville Hotel; Man Charged

A 42-year-old man was arrested after police say he stole a car from a valet stand in downtown Nashville, WKRN reports.

Metro Police say a 2023 White Hyundai SUV was stolen from the valet stand at the Hyatt Centric Downtown Nashville.

Officers found the vehicle on a wooded alleyway near Hart Street and Lewis Street after the vehicle’s owner said the car was pinging to that location.

According to WKRN, detectives saw Robert Osborne inside the car and when officers turned on their lights to imitate a traffic stop, police say Osborne failed to stop.

Police say Osborne eventually got to a dead end and attempted to run but detectives were quickly able to detain him.

While being detained, police say Osborne assaulted officers by kicking and spitting at them.

Osborne has been charged with theft of a vehicle. resisting arrest and assault on a first responder. He was booked with a $75,000 bond.

A second person was found in the stolen SUV and also arrested.
