A man has been arrested in a fatal stabbing that took place on July 29, 2023 in Downtown Nashville.
On Monday, Metro Nashville Police arrested 37-year-old Cody Watson for Saturday night’s murder of Marquis D. Churchwell, 32, in the 150 block of Representative John Lewis Way near Church Street.
Watson, who, like Churchwell, is homeless, was identified through a private company’s surveillance video as the man who fatally stabbed Churchwell at 11:25 p.m. Saturday after they had brief words on the sidewalk.
Officers spotted Watson this afternoon on Representative John Lewis Way at Broadway and took him into custody. He is charged with criminal homicide.
