Sisters Ashely and Melissa, owners of SisterLuxe Creations, LLC, are poppin’ through Nashville with their amazing, handmade balloon decor that will suit any of your party or event ideas.
B: Tell us a little about yourselves and how the idea for your business came to fruition.
A: Our names are Ashley and Melissa. We are a small women-owned business based out of middle TN called SisterLuxe Creations, LLC. We specialize in everything balloons. We have a true passion for bringing ideas and visions to life. We are two sisters that understand the importance of taking ideas to that next level. We started out a few years ago when we were planning Melissa’s wedding. We did all the décor and realized we had an eye for this. We continued by setting up balloons and backdrops for family events, birthdays, anything that we could show our creativity with! We decided that this was the business that we felt a great passion for. We started planning and brainstorming ideas for what that looked like from a business aspect. We ran through so many ideas for months and then by August 2021 we were ready to bring everything to light so we did just that!
Q: How is it working with each other? Does being siblings help the business run smoother or do heads butt sometimes?
A: We really enjoy working together. We both are great at different aspects and understand each other’s position, strength and weaknesses which allows us to step in where we fit in. Being older we’ve learned how to compromise or bring ideas to the table that both make sense and accommodate the other party. We haven’t really butted heads at all. We may have disagreements, but in business we both know at the end of the day we need to come to common ground and do what’s best for our growing business.
Q: What are your favorite events to create decorations for?
A: Our favorite events would have to be the ones that challenge us most. Larger scale events where we need to get creative and truly design a masterpiece. We really look forward to larger setups in the future. We love and are 100% up for the challenge.
Q: What was the most challenging aspect of opening your business?
A: We would say the most challenging aspect was the fact that we were just coming out of a pandemic. Of course, after something like this happens you must instill trust back into your community. Social media was also another big challenging aspect. Everything is at your fingertips these days. So being that anomaly and setting yourself apart from other businesses was key. Creating content that is appealing to the consumers and being unique was challenging.
Q: What is something that you want our readers to know about your business?
A: We will go above and beyond to make your vision come to life. I think that when people think about balloons they are still stuck in the past. Balloons have really been the statement piece in recent years, and we only see that as we continue to grow. We would love to work with anyone that wants something that WOWs their guests. Whether that be a wedding, baby shower, birthday party or even a corporate event.
Q: How far out will you travel for your services?
A: We are based in Middle TNÂ and we service the surrounding areas. If there is anything outside that area, we are still willing to travel, at that time it would be subject to a travel fee. We hope to one day travel outside of TN and provide services to surrounding states.
Q: What does the future hold for SisterLuxe Creations?
A: We hope to become your #1 choice when it comes to your balloon needs. We would like to be thought of as more of the luxury balloon choice. We are still willing to do the smaller setups. But we are looking forward to growing and creating beautiful larger setups. Really making statement pieces and creating a brand.
