Patients seeking digestive care in Nashville now have access to a new centralized treatment space as TriStar Southern Hills Medical Center officially opened its new Endoscopy Center with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Wednesday.
Hospital leaders, physicians, staff members and community partners gathered to celebrate the opening of the new facility, which brings the hospital’s gastroenterology services together under one roof to create a more convenient and streamlined experience for patients.
The new center was designed to improve every step of the patient journey, offering a modern, patient-focused environment from check-in through discharge while providing advanced technology and updated procedure rooms for gastrointestinal care.
“The opening of the new Endoscopy Center at TriStar Southern Hills represents our continued investment in delivering exceptional care to the patients in our community,” said Chief Executive Officer Nick Howald. “By bringing our gastroenterology services together in one thoughtfully designed space, we’re creating a more seamless experience for patients while supporting our physicians and care teams with advanced technology in a modern clinical environment.”
The Endoscopy Center will provide care for a variety of digestive conditions and procedures, including routine screening colonoscopies and more advanced gastrointestinal treatments.
“The new Endoscopy Center allows us to provide high-quality digestive care in an environment designed around our patients,” said Dr. Clayton M. Spiceland, a gastroenterologist at the hospital. “Whether patients are coming in for a routine screening colonoscopy or a more advanced procedure, we’re able to deliver a seamless experience while continuing to provide the exceptional clinical care our community expects.”
The hospital’s gastrointestinal program has earned several national recognitions from Healthgrades, including being named one of America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Gastrointestinal Surgery. The program also received Gastrointestinal Care Excellence and Gastrointestinal Surgery Excellence awards and was ranked among the top five hospitals in Tennessee for both gastrointestinal care and gastrointestinal surgery.
Additional honors include five-star ratings for gallbladder surgery and colorectal surgeries.
