Three Teens in Robbery Crews Arrested Friday Night in Nashville

From Metro Police January 23, 2023:

Outstanding work by Violent Crimes detectives in coordination with South and Midtown precinct officers led to the arrest of multiple juveniles Friday night involved with two robbery crews that are believed to be responsible for several robbery/burglary cases.

At approximately 7:30 p.m. detectives were alerted to an armed robbery on Whispering Hills Drive where an 18-year-old victim was approached by a group of four young men, three described as Hispanic and one as black, and told to empty his pockets. The group stole the victim’s phone, wallet, Airpods and pocket knife.

With help from Tennessee Highway Patrol and Nashville Police Department aviation units, the stolen red Mazda SUV the suspects fled in was located in North Nashville on Lane Drive and Revels Drive. The sole occupant, later identified as a 15-year-old, fled from the driver’s seat on foot as detectives arrived on scene.

He was quickly apprehended. During a search of the Mazda a backpack was recovered with a pistol, marijuana, multiple cell phones and other items possibly taken in recent robberies.

The 15-year-old suspect was charged with aggravated robbery, juvenile weapon possession and motor vehicle theft, among other charges in Juvenile Court. The stolen red Mazda and the three other suspects are believed to be connected to multiple other recent robbery and commercial burglary cases.

The second armed robbery happened just after 9:30 p.m. when a 27-year-old victim reported being held at gunpoint in a parking lot in the 1200 block of Bell Road by two male suspects wearing face masks. The pair fled, after stealing cash from the victim, in a black Infiniti Q50.

With help from Tennessee Highway Patrol and Nashville Police Department aviation units, the Infiniti was located at an apartment complex on Hickory Plaza Drive. Detectives attempted to stop the Infiniti, but it fled at a high rate of speed. The Infiniti was quickly disabled at Maple Top Drive.

The two 17-year-old suspects fled on foot and were taken into custody. Both had pistols in their possession, one with a green laser that was described by the victim.

The pair are believed to be responsible for several other robberies and at least one shooting. They were charged in Juvenile Court with aggravated robbery, evading arrest, and juvenile handgun possession among other charges.
