The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) will be conducting lane closures on I-40 eastbound on the downtown loop in Davidson County.

Beginning Thursday, January 16 at 8 p.m., crews with Roy Jorgenson Associates will close:

Both lanes of I-40 eastbound at Exit 210 (Knoxville/Chattanooga) to Exit 210C
One lane of I-65 northbound ramp to I-40 eastbound (Exit 82B/Knoxville)
Detour signage will be in place, routing traffic around the downtown loop on I-65 northbound and I-24 eastbound back to I-40 eastbound. This closure is necessary for crews to make repairs and pour concrete on I-40 over 6th Avenue South. This work is expected to take 2 – 3 hours.

All work is weather-dependent. As always, drivers are reminded to allow additional time, slow down, and move over when traveling through a work zone. The Move Over Law was passed in 2006. The penalty for violating the law in Tennessee carries the possibility of up to 30 days in jail and a maximum fine of up to $500.
