According to the Cannon County Sheriff’s Office, Tyler Beasley was taken into custody after a pursuit that began when deputies located a vehicle reported stolen by Metro Nashville Police Department. Authorities said Murfreesboro Police had advised that the vehicle was traveling toward Cannon County on John Bragg Highway.

The chase began when Sgt. Drake spotted the vehicle near Parsley’s Market and attempted a traffic stop near the SRM Quarry. Investigators said the driver refused to stop and sped into Woodbury, where officers from the Woodbury Police Department joined the pursuit.

During the chase, Beasley allegedly drove through multiple city streets, nearly striking a Woodbury police investigator’s vehicle before colliding with several Cannon County Sheriff’s Office vehicles. Authorities said he struck the side of Investigator Reed’s vehicle on the Frank Walkup Memorial Bridge, causing extensive damage.

The pursuit continued onto Locke Creek Road, where Woodbury Police Sgt. Curtis successfully deployed spike strips at the intersection of Old Murfreesboro Road. Three tires on the vehicle were deflated, but the driver continued toward Rutherford County.

Investigators said the vehicle eventually left the roadway near New Hope Church of Christ after the driver lost control. While attempting to get back onto the road, the suspect struck Chief Deputy Brown’s vehicle. Authorities said he later collided with the rear of Investigator Reed’s vehicle, bringing the pursuit to a stop.

Even after stopping, investigators said Beasley attempted to flee by putting the truck in reverse, striking Chief Deputy Brown’s vehicle a second time. Deputies were ultimately able to remove him from the vehicle and take him into custody without further incident.

Beasley was charged with reckless endangerment, evading arrest, resisting arrest, vandalism, DUI fourth offense, implied consent violation, theft over $10,000, vehicular assault, and driving on a revoked license.

His bond was set at $135,000. Authorities said he also has active felony warrants in other jurisdictions.

The Sheriff’s Office reported that no civilian vehicles were damaged during the incident. The only reported property damage outside of law enforcement vehicles was a mailbox destroyed on Doolittle Road. Residents who believe their property may have been damaged during the pursuit are asked to contact the Cannon County Sheriff’s Office at 615-563-4322.

As with all criminal cases, the charges are allegations, and Beasley is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
