A new Starbucks location is now open in the Bellevue community, at 290 Hicks Road at the former KFC. The first day of business for the new Starbucks is today, March 31st.
In a recent Starbucks Q1 report, the company shared that it opened 377 new stores in Q1, ending the period with 40,576 stores: 53% company-operated and 47% licensed. At the end of Q1, stores in the U.S. and China comprised 61% of the company’s global portfolio, with 17,049 and 7,685 stores in the U.S. and China, respectively.
Starbucks also announced at the end of last year that it will no longer charge extra for customizing beverages with non-dairy milk, making it easier for customers to make their Starbucks beverages their own.
The company stated that substituting non-dairy milk – whether it’s soymilk, oatmilk, almondmilk or coconutmilk – in a handcrafted beverage is the second most requested customization from Starbucks customers, behind adding a shot of espresso.
