Smart Art + Craft Supplies, a nonprofit thrift store specializing in art and craft supplies that supports the health, happiness, and safety of adults living with intellectual disabilities in our community, will welcome the community for its ten-year anniversary celebration. To mark this significant milestone, the nonprofit organization will announce a purposeful expansion as part of a community block party on Saturday, June 29.
Since its inception in 2014, Smart Art + Craft Supplies has been a cornerstone for artists, crafters, and educators alike, providing affordable and sustainable materials while promoting creativity and reuse in Middle Tennessee. The store’s success and impact over the past decade has inspired this ambitious plan for growth.
“We are incredibly grateful to our community for their passionate support over the past ten years,” said Kyle Graden, Head of Operations at Smart Art + Craft Supplies. “Expanding our store will allow us to offer an even wider selection of art supplies and continue our mission of making creativity accessible to all.”
The expansion project aims to increase the store’s footprint by 1,400 square feet, enhancing its capacity to serve more customers and stock a greater variety of supplies. To fund this endeavor, Smart Art + Craft Supplies has set a goal to raise $50,000 through community contributions and fundraising efforts.
As part of the anniversary celebration, Smart Art + Craft Supplies will host the community for a lively block party on Saturday, June 29, from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at 2416 Music Valley Drive, Nashville, TN. The event features fun activities for people of all ages with craft vendors showcasing their handmade creations, interactive art stations for creative exploration, and live entertainment to keep spirits high throughout the morning.
“We wanted to throw a block party as a way to say thank you to our loyal customers and supporters,” added Graden. “It’s a chance for everyone to come together, explore their creativity, and celebrate our shared passion for art and crafting.”
Attendees can look forward to:
