A 19-year-old man wanted in connection with a shooting at a Nashville smoke shop was arrested Tuesday after he fled from a traffic stop.
TITANS detectives arrested Abenzer Bekele on warrants stemming from a July 13 shooting at Huff N Puff Smoke Shop on Richards Road. Police said a man was wounded after an argument at the business turned physical.
Detectives located Bekele during a traffic stop, but he fled in the vehicle. Officers used spike strips to stop the vehicle, and Bekele then ran from the car in the 5400 block of Nolensville Pike. He was quickly taken into custody.
Police recovered a handgun, marijuana, and 25 boxes of marijuana vapes.
Bekele is charged with attempted homicide, reckless endangerment, and possession of a gun during the commission of a felony. Police said he was already free on $2,500 bond from a January 3 arrest for felony marijuana possession.
