The male pedestrian involved in Tuesday morning’s crash on I-40 West near the I-24 split has died. The preliminary investigation indicates a black Ram 1500 pick-up truck was traveling westbound at 5:15 a.m. when the pedestrian entered the roadway into the path of the oncoming truck.
The 32-year-old man was fatally struck.
The driver showed no signs of impairment.
Efforts are underway to notify the pedestrian’s family.
