Virtual Emergency Operations Center Deactivated Following Winter Weather

The Nashville Office of Emergency Management deactivated its Virtual Activation of the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) on Sunday following winter weather that brought more than 4 inches of snow to Metro Nashville Davidson County.

The EOC activated virtually Thursday, January 9, 2025, to coordinate resources and information during the winter weather event that passed through the community over the weekend.

The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a Winter Storm Warning for Middle Tennessee due to forecast snow and cold temperatures.

Efficient melting occurred Sunday with plenty of sun and temperatures getting into the 40s for most of the area. For the week ahead, cold temperatures continue but it will be dry until at least Friday of this week. Rain is expected Friday and Saturday

Metro Nashville Davidson County Operations:

  • WeGo Public Transit returned to normal operations Sunday morning, January 12. Customers should check mobile real-time information on the Transit App. The Transit App can be downloaded in your app store. Follow WeGo Public Transit on social media and visit WeGoTransit.com for continuous updates.
  • General Services will have normal operations Monday, January 13, 2025.
  • The Metro Public Health Department, including all satellite locations, will observe normal hours Monday, January 13 with no anticipated delays or closures.
  • Metro Parks Department will operate as scheduled Monday, January 13, 2025.
  • OHS along with other Metro Departments are continuing to prepare for this week of low temperatures.
  • Metro Emergency Shelter operates as the overflow shelter; please continue to use the regular Emergency Shelter options at Room In the Inn and Nashville Rescue Mission. Cold Patrol and Outreach Teams, please ensure people actually enter the building prior to driving away.
  • Launch Pad Emergency Shelter provides shelter for unstably housed young adults 18-24 in an LGBTQ+ affirming atmosphere. Details about hours, locations, and procedures will be provided to young adults via email upon sign-up through our website.
  • Metro Social Services office will reopen Monday. Office hours will be determined by morning road conditions.
