Thomas “Butch” Randolph Merrill, 81, of Palm Coast, Florida, sadly passed away on December 25, 2024. He was born on December 6, 1943, in Nashville, Tennessee, to the late Donald Randolph Merrill and Margaret Merrill Hyde.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Kenneth “Biff” Merrill and Michael “Buster” Merrill; and daughter-in-law, Stefanie Merrill.
He is survived by his daughters, Buffy (Jason) Holcomb and Cassy (Eli) Thompson; son, Carson Merrill; grandchildren, Ruby Holcomb, Merrill Holcomb, Breagyn Jenkins, Cora Jenkins, Stratton Rose Thompson, Jackson (Ava) Wray, Carson Canady, and Moriah Canady; sister, Becky (Dan) Morgan; and several nieces and nephews.
Butch was a graduate of East High School. Upon graduating, he went to serve in the United States Air Force. He was stationed in Adana, Turkey, and he worked as part of the Security Police Squad- K9 division. When he returned home, he went to work for the family business, Carousel Club, in famous Printers Alley, downtown Nashville. After the club was sold in 1978, Butch worked in real estate and then later went to work at Purity Dairies. Butch was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved the outdoors. After his retirement, he moved to Palm Coast, Florida. He joined the AMVETS Post 113 in Bunnell, Florida. He was an active member of the Riders Club, where he made many life-long friends and served the community.
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to a few special people in Butch’s life. These include: Kelley Keels, Charlie and Penny Grebe, Randy and Lori Rose, and Post 113.
Pallbearers will be Dennis Merrill, Jason Holcomb, Eli Thompson, Jackson Wray, Tony Angell, and Jon Guffey.

There will be visitation on Saturday, January 18, 2025 from 11 o’clock in the morning until the time of service. The service will be held in the Spring Hill Funeral Home Chapel at 2 o’clock in the afternoon. The burial will follow immediately after at Historic Spring Hill Cemetery.
