Sue Marie Kinzer and Lester Allen Kinzer shared a love story that spanned 68 devoted years of marriage. After a lifetime spent side by side, Sue passed away peacefully on May 16, 2026, and Lester followed her just three days later on May 19, 2026. Together, they built a life centered on faith, family, love, and unwavering devotion to one another.

In Loving Memory of Sue Marie Kinzer

Sue Marie Kinzer, age 87, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2026. She was born on July 28, 1938, and was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who cherished every moment spent with her family.

Sue attended East Nashville Junior High School and was known for her warm heart, caring spirit, and deep love for those around her. She especially enjoyed Bible study, hosting family gatherings, fishing, and spending quality time with her children and grandchildren. She also loved listening to Alan Jackson, Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash, and Hank Williams. Sue devoted her life to loving and caring for her family and was the heart of her home for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Julia Burton; her sisters, Frances Perrin and Betty Parsley; her son, Allen Kinzer; and her grandson, Joshua.

Sue leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Tammie (David) Hendrix, Robert (Wanda) Kinzer, and daughter-in-law Cathey Kinzer; grandchildren Jessica, Rachel, Samantha, Angel, Micheal, Courtney, Cody, and Jody Sue; great-grandchildren Eliza, Rose, Christina, and Laura; precious fur baby, Cricket; along with many extended family members and dear friends.

In Loving Memory of Lester Allen Kinzer

Lester Allen Kinzer passed away on May 19, 2026, at the age of 86. He was born on August 14, 1939, to Delbert Kinzer and Eunice Sutherland.

Lester was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He enjoyed reading, fishing, and watching Westerns, but above all else, he loved his wife and family. On May 20, 1958, he married the love of his life, Sue Marie Kinzer, and together they shared 68 years of marriage filled with love, loyalty, and cherished memories.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son Allen Kinzer; and brother Kenneth Kinzer.

Lester leaves behind his children, Tammie (David) Hendrix, Robert (Wanda) Kinzer, and daughter-in-law Cathey Kinzer; grandchildren Jessica, Rachel, Samantha, Angel, Micheal, Courtney, Cody, and Jody Sue; great-grandchildren Eliza, Rose, Christina, and Laura; his sisters, Linda Miner and husband David, and Margaret Weist and husband Charlie; sister-in-law Dorothy; beloved dog Cricket; along with many extended family members and dear friends who will forever treasure his memory.

Though their family grieves the loss of both Sue and Lester, they find comfort in knowing the two shared a bond so strong that they were never apart for long. Their love, legacy, and devotion to family will continue to live on in all who knew and loved them.

A visitation for Sue and Lester Kinzer will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home & Memorial Park. A Celebration of Life service will begin at 1:00 PM with burial to follow. https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/nashville-tn
