The family is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Shirley A. Stewart, 89, of Hermitage, Tennessee. Shirley was born on April 23, 1935, in Midland, Michigan, to Marc and Neva Weymouth. She grew up in Midland alongside her two sisters, Barbara Hagebush and Linda (Steve) Schaberg.

In 1955, Shirley married the love of her life, Herb Stewart, with whom she shared over 60 wonderful years of marriage until Herb’s passing in 2016. Together, they built a life centered on love, family, and kindness.

Shirley had a heart of gold and was known for her compassion and care for everyone around her. She was a devoted mother to her three children: Kari (Bert) Wright, Kevin (Patsy) Stewart, and Kurt (Sherry) Stewart. She adored her four grandchildren: Brian (Cortney) Wright, Kyle (Ashley) Stewart, Katelyn (Chad) Gardiner, and Dylan Wright, and she cherished her many great-grandchildren, filled with joy each moment she spent with them.

Shirley’s passions included gardening, golfing, playing the piano, slot machines, and sharing quality time with her loved ones. She also treasured the simple joys of life, like sitting on the patio with her dear neighbor and friend Margie, enjoying the sunshine with a popsicle.

A celebration of Shirley’s beautiful life will be held at a later date. Her family will continue to honor and cherish the memories of the moments they shared with her.

Shirley’s legacy of love, kindness, and grace will live on in all who knew her.
