It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Scott on June 6, 2026, at his home in Nashville, Tennessee at 60 years old.
Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, Scott was proud of his roots and his family. After graduating from high school, he moved to Toronto to continue his education and begin a career that would take him to varying places around the world. Although work kept him far from Nova Scotia during his adult life, it was always home in his heart. He treasured every opportunity to return and reconnect with family and lifelong friends.
He was predeceased by his loving parents, Marjorie (Campbell) and Ken MacDougall, whose patience, guidance, and unwavering love helped shape the man he became.
Scott is survived by his wife, Wanpanida, of Thailand; his sister, Deanne (Brad) of Fall River, Nova Scotia; and his nieces and nephew, Rachel, Emma, and Nicholas, all of whom he loved dearly. Scott also deeply loved Sookie and Bella, his two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, who were always close by his side. He also leaves behind many cherished Campbell and MacDougall relatives, along with his special family, Lauren and Terry Woods, and his half-siblings, Kate, Patrick, and Emma.
We are deeply grateful to Scott’s close circle of friends in Tennessee particularly, Martin Wilson, and family, for the friendship, love, and support they shared with Scott. We also thank his Nova Scotia friends, including Pat Greene and many others, whose companionship brought him joy, laughter, and countless memories.
Scott had a gift for making an entrance and an even greater gift for making people feel seen. His infectious laugh, quick wit, generous spirit, and kind heart will be remembered by all who knew him. He could fill a room with energy, lift someone’s spirits with a joke, and always left a lasting impression, even after the briefest encounter.
Though his journey ended too soon, Scott lived a life rich with family, friendship, adventure, and love. The measure of a life is not found in the number of years lived, but in the lives touched along the way. By that measure, Scott’s life was extraordinary.
As we struggle with this loss, we also celebrate the memories Scott gave us. Hold your loved ones close, share a story, take an adventure, and raise a glass in his honour. That is how Scott would want to be remembered.
Donations in Scott’s memory can be made to the SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) Nova Scotia.
Scott’s final resting place will be in Nova Scotia, with visitation at Dartmouth Funeral Home, 29 Queen Street, on September 9th from 6:00 – 8:00pm.
A private burial will be held at another time.
