Sandra Hughes Fields, 89, peacefully passed away on January 1st, 2025.

Born June 1st, 1935, in Maury County, Tennessee, Sandra was a stern, country woman known for her strength, resilience, and steadfast love for her family.

She decided to end her education in Jr. High School to help with supporting her family at the time, but education was always a special interest of hers. She often spoke about wanting to teach one day and become a college professor.

A woman of deep faith, Sandra was devoted to God and made sure her family had a strong spiritual foundation and connection with the Lord. She instilled strong values in her children and left behind a lasting impact on their lives. She was a long-time member of The Village Church in Nashville, TN.

Sandra was a natural leader, respected for her strength and wisdom. She was known for her kindness, humor, and unwavering support. As a devoted wife, a loving mother, an aunt, a grandmother, and a great-grandmother, she always put her family first.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Eula Hughes; her husband, James Fields; and siblings Clara Lockridge, Babe Hughes, Hattie Thompson, Clay “Cud” Hughes, John Hughes, Matilda “Tina” Hughes, and Georgia Adams.

She is survived by her children, Pamela Fields and Craig Fields (Kenya Rowe); grandchildren Dana, Chelsee, Deone, Kassandra, and Anthony Fields; great-grandchildren Niko and Dior; nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and the community of The Village Church.

Services will be held on January 11th, 2025, at Heritage Funeral Home 609 Bear Creek Pike, Columbia, TN 38401, with visitation 11 am-1 pm with the funeral at 1 pm. Following the service, she will be laid to rest in Hughes Cemetery. https://www.tnfunerals.com
