Roy Charles Greer, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at the age of 77, following a brief battle with cancer.
Born on May 28, 1947, to Vola Greer and Clister Gracie Lovell Greer, Roy grew up with a deep sense of loyalty, resilience, and love for his community. A proud veteran, he served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps until being medically discharged.
Roy shared a devoted and loving marriage with his wife, Hazel Marie Howell Greer, for more than 55 years. Married on September 6, 1969, their life together was a testament to enduring love and partnership.
He was preceded in death by his parents but is survived by his brother, Bert Greer (Kathy), and his sister, Sybil Greer. Roy’s legacy is carried forward by his cherished daughters, Mikasha Clark (Richard) and Mariah Hulan (Isaac), and his beloved grandchildren, Mila, Noelle, Lincoln, and Marceline. He is also fondly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Roy dedicated over 30 years of his career to Walmart, where he was admired for his work ethic, kindness, and the genuine friendships he built along the way. Beyond his professional life, Roy will be remembered for his quiet strength, steadfast spirit, and unwavering love for his family. He touched the lives of many with his gentle nature and enduring wisdom. Roy will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His legacy of love, service, and resilience will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
A celebration of Roy’s life will be held at a later date, and details of the memorial service will be shared with family and friends.
