Robbie Lee Upchurch, age 90 years of Nashville, TN. Born April 4, 1931 in Jackson County, Tennessee, fourth child to Channie and Louella Spivey, died July 19, 2021.
She was an active member of Otter Creek Church of Christ and worked for First American National Bank for many years. After retiring, she was able to travel with family and friends and see many, many places she had only dreamed of like Australia where she walked on Bondi Beach and toured the Sydney Opera House; New Zealand where she fed the kangaroos and met the Maori people; the Panama Canal where she waved at the photographers on the sides of the canal; the Caribbean; and she got to HEAR the snow in the Great Smokies. She was full of laughter and mischief, and she loved her God, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren completely.
When her cancer returned, she was asked what she was planning to do and her words were “live and be joyous”.
Preceded in death by husband of 56 years, Ben F. Upchurch; parents, Channie and Louella Spivey; and siblings; Edna Whitaker, Dean Lawson, Sidney Spivey, and John Spivey.
Survived by children, Kathy (Don) Rose and Michael (Sara) Upchurch; grandchildren, Jeff (Tiffany) Batts, Shannon Howard, Shelley (Brian) Holt, Chad (Martha) Upchurch, Daniel Upchurch, Dawn (Barry) Floyd, and Donita (Jon) Fox; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Marie Betancourt; and numerous nieces and nephews and many close friends.
Celebration of her life will be Saturday, July 31, 2021, at Woodbine Funeral Home, Hickory Chapel, 5852 Nolensville Road at 1:00 p.m. with Mike Root from Florissant, MO officiating. Visitation with the family, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. before the service.
