Rebecca was the second of five children born in Nashville, Tennessee, to the late Melvin Eugene Hoffman and Polly (Hall) Hoffman. She grew up in Goodlettsville, Tennessee, where she graduated from Goodlettsville High School, Class of 1974. Rebecca and her siblings were raised in the Goodlettsville Church of Christ.
Rebecca spent the last 15 years of her career working in the office at Climate Control of Pensacola. In her younger years, she and her late husband owned Islander Marine, a canvas shop near Perdido Key, Florida. Rebecca was an avid gardener who deeply loved her plants and flowers-a passion that brought her great joy and peace.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Ray Light, and her brother, Perry Hoffman.
Rebecca is survived by her loving companion of 17 years, Robert “Bob” Nobles; her daughter, Myanne “Mya” Hinote; her granddaughter, Raeleigh Miller; her brothers, Jeff Hoffman (Darlena), Darrin Hoffman (Laura), and Eric Hoffman (Ashley); several nieces and nephews; her bonus sons, Raymond Gentry (Cathy), Joshua Roache (Caroline), David Nobles (Roseanne), and Eric Nobles (Sarah); along with multiple bonus grandchildren; many special friends and neighbors, and her beloved cat, Chappy.
Services will be held on January 10, 2026, at Lewis Funeral Home in Milton, Florida. Visitation will be from 3:00–4:00 p.m., with the service beginning at 4:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Rebecca’s memory to the Milton Garden Club through the University of Florida IFAS Extension, honoring her deep love for gardening and natural beauty.
