Randall H. Tidwell –4/16/43 -10/11/21.
On Monday, October 11, 2021, a courageous, gentle, and truly spiritual man left us for his heavenly home.
He spent over 40 years teaching and coaching students at Antioch High School and Overton High School. He was Assistant Principal at Martin Luther King High School and Principal of Middle Tennessee Christian School. He was an elder at Rural Hill Church of Christ for over thirty years where he was involved in teaching and mentoring his brothers and sisters in Christ.
Randall was a graduate of Antioch High School, David Lipscomb University, and Middle Tennessee State University. He was a lifelong learner, loved to garden and golf with his brothers and the “duffers.” He loved traveling, never met a stranger, and knew people wherever he went! Randall was generous, kind-hearted, and always wanted to do what was right.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Billie Jean Randolph Tidwell; daughters, Marsha (Greg) Dunn, Beth (Todd) Davidson; grandchildren, Ashton Dunn, Alex Dunn, Casey (Lucy) Davidson, Micayla Davidson; brothers, Larry (Barbara) Tidwell, Russell (Jean) Tidwell, Eddie (Ruth) Tidwell. Preceded in death by his father, James “Sonny” Tidwell, and mother, Ruth Tidwell.
Visitation will be on Monday, October 18, 2021 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Woodbine Funeral Home, Hickory Chapel, 5852 Nolensville Road followed by funeral services at 2:00 p.m. conducted by Russ King, Dan Dozier, and Greg Dunn. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers: Elders and Deacons of Rural Hill Church of Christ. Active Pallbearers: Gary Winfree, Jim Kirby, Jerry Scobee, Jim Parker, Walt Randolph, Barry Tidwell, Glenn Tidwell, Brent Tidwell, and Hunt Tidwell.
