Mrs. Patricia Horne “Patsy” Stanley, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2025. She was 83.
Born on May 22, 1941, in Atlanta, Georgia, Patsy was the beloved daughter of the late Edmund Gray and Lucy Brown Horne. A proud graduate of Druid Hills High School, she went on to earn her Bachelor’s degree from Stephens College, where she cultivated a lifelong love for learning and friendship.
On February 1, 1964, she married the love of her life, Mack Bryan Stanley Sr., in Atlanta. Together they built a life filled with devotion, warmth, and a deep commitment to family. Following their move to Nashville, Patsy embraced her role as a dedicated homemaker, a gracious hostess, and a beloved member of the Nashville Centennial Club and Her Garden Club.
Patsy had a passion for bringing people together. Whether hosting friends, nurturing her family, or giving her time and talents to her church, she radiated kindness, generosity, and a love of life that touched everyone who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mack Bryan Stanley Sr., and her parents.
She is lovingly survived by her two sons, Mack Bryan Stanley Jr. and Edmund “Ed” Luther Stanley (Tam); and two cherished grandchildren, John Mack Stanley and Charles Gray Stanley.
Patsy’s legacy of love, grace, and joyful spirit will live on in all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, May 9, 2025 at Woodmont Christian Church, 3601 Hillsboro Pike, Nashville, TN 37215 from 10:00am to 1:00pm with a Celebration of Life Service beginning at 1:00pm.
