Norma Jean Left affectionately known as “Jeannie” was born October 5, 1952, in Nashville, Tennessee to the late Willie Mae Banks and Johnny B. Claybrooks. She departed this life on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at her home surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
Norma was united in holy matrimony to the late Charles Left Sr. on October 26, 1990. She was educated in the Nashville Public Schools system. At an early age, Norma professed her life to Christ and was a member at Webster United Missionary Baptist Church.
Jeannie loved cooking and baking. Everyone loved her famous caramel and rum cakes in which one slice would have you feeling nice. She enjoyed baking her loved ones cakes for their birthdays. Jeannie also loved playing card games. She was ready to beat anyone in a game of spades and you better not have gotten caught cheating while she was at the table.
Norma was preceded in death by her stepfather, Sam Banks; two brothers, George and Raymond Claybrooks; two sisters, Martha and Yvonne Claybrooks.
She leaves to cherish her memories her devoted daughters, Felisha (Kenny) Shelton, Lucinda Penny; son, Felix (Tameka) Claybrooks; eight grandkids, Courtney Jr., Cornisha, Felix Jr., Alex, Alexie, Kiya, Austin, Tavianxce; four great grandkids, Halo, Nyomi, Timelvion, Ace; sisters, Alice (Larry) Claybrooks, Alisa (Jerry) Woods; brothers, Johnny (Phillis) Claybrooks; Robert Claybrooks; very devoted aunts, Josephine Banks, Martha Hayes, Annie Lavender; very devoted cousins/brothers, Thomas and Tyrone Milner; nephew, Anthony Claybrooks; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
