Mike McDaniel, “Magoo”, USA LTC, Ret. succumbed to his Master’s Call on December 28, 2024. Forgiven and headed to his final residence.

He leaves his loving wife and soul mate, Betty Sue, who he loved with all his heart, Carlla (Josh) Miller of Smyrna, Tennessee; Chip (Kourtney) Daniel of Mount Juliet, Tennessee, (his step children who he loved and considered as if they were his own); his grandchildren, Kennedy and Kasen Miller, Avery, Bralyn, and Timber Daniel (whose time with them was too short); and his sister, Glenda (Don) Dillingham of Mount Juliet, Tennessee; numerous nieces and nephews along with a multitude of close friends and associates from Procter & Gamble, Thomas Nelson Publishers, the US Army Reserve, Hickory Hollow, Mill Creek, and Smith Springs Baptist Churches and the Over the Hill Lunch Bunch.

Mike served in the U.S. Army Reserve for 32 years, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. In 1990, he came out of retirement to volunteer to participate in Operation Desert Storm, where he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for Meritorious Achievement. In 2019, he was nominated and inducted into the OCS Hall of Fame in Fort Benning (Ft. Moore), Georgia.

Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, January 3, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. (visitation 2:00 – 6:30 p.m.) at Mill Creek Baptist Church, 318 Wallace Road, Nashville with Dr. Mason Davis, Pastor Lemuel Wade and Servant /Pastor Keith Cameron officiating. Interment will be at the Veteran’s Cemetery with Military Honors. https://www.woodbinefuneralhome.com
