You may have seen Mike on the sidelines of the Titans games wearing the orange sleeves. He’s the guy giving the signal to the referees to go to commercial break! ESPN and CBS Sports will have big shoes to fill! Mike was passionate about the Vanderbilt Commodores. In his spare time, for the last several years, he would work as an usher at their various sporting events, as well as working their broadcasting. This would assure him a way to cheer on his team, especially the Vandy Boys who just won the S.E.C. tournament for baseball.
Mike was an avid sports fan who knew trivia beyond the average person. He loved the Cincinnati Reds and never missed watching a game. Some of his fondest memories were attending several NASCAR races and cheering for Darrel Waltrip. Mike also had a true appreciation for all genres of music and played several instruments himself. He shared this appreciation with his family, who learned to appreciate music because of him. He had a sense of humor like no other! He brought lots of laughter to many people!
Mike knew what was most important in life, and that was his family. Though he didn’t have children of his own, he loved his nieces and nephews and never missed a birthday party or family event. He showed care, consideration, kindness, and love to his parents, siblings, nieces, nephews, and the countless friends he’s had through the years. Mike’s strong faith in God was a good example to others which will last forever.
