Melissa Kay Stewart, age 55, of Joelton, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at TriStar Skyline Medical Center.
Melissa was born on November 26, 1967 in Nashville, Tennessee to Patricia “Susie” Ferrell and the late Kenneth Ferrell, Sr.
She worked as a phlebotomist in the healthcare field for over 25 years. She loved to fish and was a good cook, especially pastry. She was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Ferrell, Jr.; and stepson, Nicholas Stewart.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 22 years, Duane Stewart; sons, Richard Parrott, John Parrott, Chris Stewart, and Jeff Stewart; sister, Kimberly (Quentin) Crawford; and numerous grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 28, with Bro. Bruce Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow in Mallory’s Cemetery with family & friends serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, August 27th from 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM and again on Monday from 10:00 AM until the hour of service at 11:00 AM.
