Martin Edmund Harvey, better known to all as Eddie, passed peacefully on April 23, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of devotion—to his family, his craft, and his community.

Born in Nashville, Tennessee on May 7, 1955, to Douglas and Inez Harvey, Eddie grew up with steady hands and a heart for helping others.

He pursued his education at Lipscomb University, then poured his energy into the family business, Harvey Machine Company, where he worked alongside his father and brother as Vice President and Operations Manager. He was a man who understood machines, yes—but more than that, he understood how things and people worked, and how to keep both running when others couldn’t.

Married to the love of his life, Taresa Harvey, since June 26, 1992, Eddie lived life with quiet conviction. He loved his land and found joy in the tools of a good day’s work— tractors and anything with an engine, especially Chevys, Fords, and his John Deere. He was the kind of man who picked up when you called, showed up when you needed help, and stayed until things were made right.

Eddie was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Douglas and Inez Harvey; his brother, Stephen Harvey; and his niece, Kristen Rogers.

He is survived by his wife, Taresa Harvey; his siblings Jeff (Kerri) Harvey and Kathey (Ricky) Caruthers; his children, Clint Harvey and Rachael (Brady) Doster; and his cherished grandchildren, Colton and Riley Doster.

To know Eddie was to know the value of hard work, the importance of family, and the comfort of someone steady in your corner. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege to call him husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend.

Visitation was held on Sunday, April 27, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home, 660 Thompson Lane, Nashville, Tennessee 37204, with a service to follow at 2:00 PM. https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/nashville-tn
