Martha Jane “Janie” McCormack Sanders, 71, trauma nurse for Skyline Medical Center, passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at her residence in Nashville.
Janie was born on February 16, 1953 in Columbia to the late James McCormack and the late Joy Caldwell McCormack.
She graduated from Columbia Central High School in 1971 and received her nursing degree from Columbia State Community College.
Survivors include her son, Timothy Scott (Megan) Sanders of Milton, FL; daughter, Christie Patrice (Joe) Denney of Illinois; brother, Jimbo McCormack of Columbia; niece, Allison McCormack of Brentwood; two grandchildren, Noah Roberts and Delia Roberts; three step-grandchildren Dylan, Drew, and Devin.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, August 2, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends on Thursday, August 1, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
